Barracuda Events: “To IPO or not”

On Tuesday 16th September, Barracuda welcomed a group of finance heads and Chairmen from the retail and consumer sectors to a lunchtime discussion to debate this interesting topic.

We were delighted that Darren Shapland, Non-Executive Chairman of Maplin, Independent Non-executive Chairman of Poundland and Non-Executive Director of Wolseley and Ladbrokes, had agreed to lead the event. He opened the discussion admirably and humourously and set the scene with some detailed research and typically forthright views. The open table debate that followed was lively, deliberating the recent last minute cancellations of IPO’s underlining current nervousness in a fickle market.

Paul Botting, Director of Barracuda Interim thanks all of the attendees for their contribution and particularly Darren whose scene-setting made for such a successful event, evidenced by the outstanding feedback received after the event.
